We’re closing out the week with a two-day celebration inside an event at the heart of the DC creative community: Crafty Bastards. Visit our lounge space where you can engage with local artists, gain inspiration, craft and recharge throughout the day.
This event is family-friendly and pet-friendly!
Please note, the DCDW Lounge will be inside of Crafty Bastards – you must buy tickets to the craft fair, in order to be admitted entry.

11-12 pm | Workshop: Letters & Lettering w/ Madelyne Adams |
Designer, hand letterer and letter writer Madelyne of Good Letters studio will lead a session on the art of letter writing and elements of hand lettering, followed by time for you to hand letter a postcard. | |
12:30-2:00 pm | Fireside Chats w/ Local Artists |
Take a seat around the fireplace as Phim Her, a creative storyteller and strategic marketer currently at The Washington Post, leads conversations with local artists and makers. | |

Speaker: Travis Pietsch | |
Travis is a freelance illustrator and designer with a unique woodcut and etching design style. | |
Speaker: Hadiya Williams | |
Hadiya is a designer, maker and founder of Black Pepper Paperie Co., a design and maker’s studio that focuses on boutique event design and one-of-a-kind handmade clayware and printed works. | |

Designer and former AIGA DC President, Anthony of Victory Dance Creative will lead a Halloween-themed session. Bring your bones on over; we’ll provide the skulls and the paint. Limited seating is available, so secure your spot ahead of time! Only a small handful of spaces will be available for walk-ins. | |

It’s time to compete! Calling all pet owners and artists to enter our contest to make the most creative pet costume or decorated mini pumpkin using our collection of supplies in a short window of time. | |

Josef is an artist, producer and arts organizer, who was appointed by Mayor Muriel Bowser to the DC Commission on the Arts & Humanities in 2016. | |
Speaker: LA Johnson | |
LA is an illustrator whose work has appeared on album covers, posters, t-shirts and totes. She currently works at NPR, and she’s the creator of this year’s DC Design Week artwork. | |
Speaker: Bria Taylor | |
Bria is a graphic designer turned badass baker and the owner of Killa Cakes. And she’s designing a cake to celebrate DC Design Week’s 10th anniversary. | |

DC-based band By & By brings vocals and strings together to make music with roots that dig through the traditions of bluegrass, folk, Americana, and rock ‘n’ roll, to create a sound uniquely theirs. | |
